Terms & Conditions
By making a booking with Forest Homestay, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms are designed to ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience for all our guests. Please read them carefully before confirming your reservation.
1. Booking & Payment
All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by Forest Homestay.
- A 30% advance payment is required at the time of booking to confirm your reservation.
- The remaining balance must be paid upon check-in.
- We accept payment via bank transfer, credit/debit cards, and UPI.
- All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and inclusive of applicable taxes.
- Any additional charges (extra meals, activities, etc.) will be settled at check-out.
2. Check-in & Check-out
- Check-in: 2:00 PM onwards.
- Check-out: 11:00 AM.
- Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
- Please inform us in advance if you require early or late arrangements.
We can store your luggage if you arrive early or wish to explore after check-out.
3. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Please refer to our Refund Policy for detailed information. The key terms are:
- 15+ days before check-in: 100% refund.
- 7–14 days before check-in: 50% refund.
- Less than 7 days: No refund (date transfer available).
- No-shows and early check-outs are not eligible for refunds.
4. Guest Conduct
We expect all guests to respect the property, staff, and fellow guests.
- Quiet hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
- Smoking is prohibited inside all rooms and common indoor areas.
- Please do not disturb wildlife or pluck plants/flowers on the estate.
- Any damage to property will be charged to the guest.
- Guests are responsible for the safety of their personal belongings.
We reserve the right to ask any guest to leave without refund if their behaviour is disruptive or unsafe.
5. Pets
We are pet-friendly! However, the following conditions apply:
- Only well-behaved dogs are allowed in designated cottages.
- Please inform us at the time of booking if you are bringing a pet.
- Pets must be kept on a leash in public areas.
- Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.
- Any damage caused by pets will be charged to the guest.
6. Meals & Dining
- Meal timings: Breakfast (8:00–10:00 AM), Lunch (1:00–3:00 PM), Dinner (7:30–9:30 PM).
- Please inform us of any dietary restrictions or allergies at least 24 hours in advance.
- Outside food is not permitted in the dining area.
- We serve authentic Malnad cuisine; special meals can be arranged on request.
7. Activities & Safety
- All activities (treks, plantation walks, birdwatching) are undertaken at the guest's own risk.
- Guests must follow the instructions of our guides and staff at all times.
- We recommend wearing appropriate footwear and clothing for outdoor activities.
- Children must be supervised by adults at all times during activities.
- We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule activities due to weather or safety concerns.
8. Limitation of Liability
Forest Homestay is not liable for:
- Loss or damage to personal belongings.
- Injuries sustained during activities or on the property (unless caused by our negligence).
- Disruptions caused by natural events, power outages, or other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.
By staying with us, you agree to release Forest Homestay from any liability to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. Privacy Policy
Your personal information is collected and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not share your data with third parties except as necessary to process your booking or as required by law.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from your stay or booking shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chikmagalur, Karnataka.
11. Acceptance of Terms
By making a booking with Forest Homestay, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not proceed with your booking.
